A Brief Discussion on the Destiny Master
What is the Destiny Master? As the name suggests, it is the master of the destiny chart, and also the center of the Taiji point.
Therefore, all visible signs in the destiny chart must be related to the Destiny Master. The emergence of a natal chart must have a cause and effect; it exists to fulfill and resolve this cause and effect, which is why the Destiny Master comes into being. Otherwise, there would be no meaning to its existence.
In BaZi (the Eight Characters), the Destiny Master has “moved house” before, transitioning from year to month, from month to day, and from day to hour. This is because its manifestation on the day is more apparent, hence it is favored by those who study BaZi. Thus, settling on the day becomes what we now know as the Day Master. This settling seems like a significant advancement in destiny studies but also marks the beginning of narrow-minded thinking. Perhaps because it has settled here for so long, everyone has forgotten that it once moved houses, leading to a lack of clarity about its trajectory. This results in complaints such as “there’s not much that can be discerned from BaZi.” But is this really true? Allow me to explain and analyze.
Did you know that year, month, day, and hour are all aspects of the Destiny Master? They represent its journey through life; they are merely transitions of the Taiji point that give rise to countless manifestations of Taiji. If you can comprehend this profound principle and understand how to apply it, you will no longer have such complaints because this knowledge forms the essential pathways for learning BaZi. Once these pathways are open, you can acquire deep internal skills; otherwise, you will forever remain stuck in superficial forms. It’s no wonder that there are very few discernible matters—this is a normal phenomenon. Therefore, I hope that after hearing about the story of how the Destiny Master moved houses, your ability to interpret destinies will improve.
