Reflections on Opening the Eyes of the Deity
I’ve heard that after a deity has their eyes opened, they can truly manifest. Is this true?
If this statement is true, then the master who opens the eyes of the deity must either be a high-ranking official of that deity or possess extraordinary powers, with a spiritual cultivation that surpasses or is stronger than that of the deity. Only then could they command the deity to manifest, bestow blessings upon them, and empower them. But does the master who opens the eyes of the deity truly have such abilities? This raises a question worth pondering. Therefore, whether deities need their eyes opened is indeed open to discussion. Note: Inviting deities to descend is my method for establishing a spirit seat; there is no need for an eye-opening ceremony, and it remains stable and effective.
How can we confirm that a deity has descended?
Generally, after establishing a spirit seat, most people use divination with a sacred cup to inquire and confirm the presence of a deity. But is this correct? This raises questions because you may not even know who the god granting the sacred cup is. Thus, establishing a spirit seat is not something an ordinary geomancer can do; unless you are a spokesperson for the deity, how could you undertake such work?
