Life at 50: Starting Over!

Life starts anew at 50!

In the planning of life, I have discovered that upon reaching certain ages, whether it’s due to retiring after 25 years of service, being plagued by chronic illnesses that necessitate retirement, or the mandatory retirement age of 65… among other reasons,

One should only “transition,” and never entertain the notion of “retirement.” If the idea of “retirement” is constantly on one’s lips and in one’s heart, once it takes root in the mind, it is highly likely to mark the beginning of a rapid decline in physiological functions.

In today’s broader context, clinical statistics indicate that ages 50 to 59 are a period of rapid aging for the human body, and by ages 60 to 69, all sorts of chronic illnesses begin to emerge.

How to delay aging, how to care for elderly health, and how to ensure a fulfilling spiritual life in old age have evidently become important issues that everyone must pay attention to.

Director Chen advocates for the concept of “Life Restarts at 50”! Life begins anew at age 50; at 51 you become like a 1-year-old, at 52 you become like a 2-year-old… and so on.
Thinking this way makes me feel like I’m still in kindergarten’s senior class, which brings me joy because I still have opportunities to start over. There are many books for me to read and so much new knowledge waiting for me to learn and discover.
The thirst for knowledge in my spirit continuously prompts self-affirmation with thoughts like “I am still young; I still have opportunities!”—and this is what vitality is all about!

According to biological theories, lifespan is five times longer than the reproductive period; thus human lifespans should ideally reach “120 years.”
Living up to 120 years is absolutely possible; however, the question lies in how one cares for their own life and maintains their physical body.
Most importantly, it’s about how to keep oneself mentally agile, conceptually flexible, actively engaged, and physically youthful—filled with vibrant life force!

With the mindset of life restarting at 50, reaching age 70 marks another wave of adulthood at age 20! “Life truly begins at seventy,”
this statement holds true! Remember that aging begins with an old heart; an outdated mindset leads to stagnation. Just look at TSMC Chairman Morris Chang—how old is he? He still takes public transport to work and remains busy with his duties! And what about us?
That’s right! He doesn’t seem old; he is just turning 31 this year—he is indeed young!
