There are many Taoist immortals, each teaching according to their own place and responding to the needs of beings in all directions, hence their numerous names. The main ones are as follows: Heavenly Lord, the revered one among all heavens, admired by the multitude of true beings, such as the Primordial Heavenly Lord; Supreme Deity, the ruler of the heavenly realm, known as Supreme Deity, like the Jade Emperor; Primordial Monarch, a title for female immortals, such as Doumu Primordial Monarch; Star Lords, deities of stars and constellations, such as the Sun Star Lord; True Person, a servant attending to the Heavenly Lord, like the Marvelous Action True Person; Marshal, General, and Mighty Ones are officials who subdue demons and protect the path, such as Marshal Tianpeng, General Huoling, and Yellow Turban Mighty One; Jade Maiden refers to maidservants serving in heaven, like Nightlight Jade Maiden; Functionary refers to officials who convey documents and proclamations, such as the Three Realms Functionary on duty.
Additionally, in the “Taishang Dongxuan Lingbao Shihao Gongde Yinyuan Miaojing,” there are ten titles for the Primordial Heavenly Lord: Unsurpassed Dao, Primordial Beginning, Taiji (Supreme Ultimate), High Sovereign, Brightness, Jade Emperor, Righteous Dharma King, Great Compassionate Father, Immortal True Master, Heavenly Lord.
The above is just a brief discussion. Immortals do not have fixed names; they take on different names for the sake of guiding sentient beings and widely practicing expedient means. Thus they adopt various names to provide a bridge for all sentient beings.
