Take a deep breath and exercise your body.
Facing the outdoors, in a place with fresh air, stand with your hands naturally hanging by your sides,
seriously look at the green mountains, green trees, and green leaves. Take a deep breath, filling your chest with air continuously, inhaling slowly and steadily,
until you can’t inhale anymore, ensuring that your chest is full of air; begin to hold your breath, focusing your mind on your chest. The longer you hold it, the better—hold it until you can’t anymore, until you can no longer bear it,
then slowly exhale through your nostrils. Exhale slowly; the slower, the better, until all the air is expelled from your chest.
In short, this is the best way to train lung capacity. In between breaths, imagine yourself gradually expelling the stagnant air from within all five organs,
inhaling golden energy filled with sunlight. This way, you can slowly adjust the positive energy in your body and allow it to gradually return to balance. Moreover, this practice helps calm the mind and clarify thoughts.
Some people may practice for just one minute; others for two minutes; some may last three to five minutes. Individual abilities and physical conditions vary. Practicing more will always be beneficial for health; once you improve, you’ll understand its benefits.
Deep breathing and body exercise are also known as “Baoping Qigong.” The journey begins with each inhale and exhale; spiritual cultivation starts from achieving tranquility.
