Mantra of the Precious Mountain of Merit

The “Mantra of the Precious Mountain of Merit” is first found in the Song-dynasty compilation Mìzhòu Yuányīn Wǎngshēng Jí, edited by Zhiguang and Huizhen. The text records that this mantra comes from the Buddhist scripture the Great Collection Sutra; however, in the extant text of the Great Collection Sutra, this mantra and the related passage can no longer be found, and it is presumed to have been lost in the course of historical transmission.

  • Helping one be born in the Pure Land: It can help practitioners stay away from the evil realms, and at the end of life they will निश्चितly be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
