The Exploration of Sound Spirits and the Five Elements of Sound Spirits
Sound spirits refer to the dynamic power generated by sound; it is an invisible force. The homophony is one manifestation of sound spirits.
One must not overlook this, as it is a very strange phenomenon. Perhaps it is a coincidence, perhaps it is the fulfillment of a fact, or perhaps it is… Below are some actual encounters that I would like to share with everyone.
In the past, when I judged the personality of someone named “Wei Chengping,” I noticed that the sound of their name resembled “weicengping,” so I jokingly said, “You have never been calm; your personality should be very active.” It turned out to be true. Another time, when assessing someone named “Chen Shihan,” I found that their name sounded like “chenshihan,” so I joked, “You must be quiet and your personality is likely quite indifferent.” Again, I was correct. There are indeed many such instances where predictions have proven accurate; therefore, one should not underestimate the power of sound spirits and neglect them.
However, the application of the five elements of sound spirits is vastly different because the five elements were carefully studied by phonologists before being included in the “Kangxi Dictionary.” The term “Kangxi” refers to a Qing Dynasty emperor’s name; thus, being included in this dictionary should lend it some credibility. Yet whether it can truly supplement what is lacking in one’s BaZi (Eight Characters) preferences remains a matter of personal opinion. This is certainly beyond what a novice like me can define; moreover, if one isn’t an expert, how can they critique professionalism? Don’t you agree?
