It turns out that “a good heart” is more powerful than “feng shui”!

It turns out that a “kind heart” is more powerful than “feng shui”!

Here’s a story to share with everyone: when one harbors good thoughts, they can manifest good karma. Instead of spending money to change feng shui, it’s better to first change oneself and one’s mindset.

A feng shui master traveled a long, long way and was extremely thirsty. Finally, he saw a manor and hurriedly asked for some water. A servant came out and told him to wait outside while he went to fetch the water. The master waited for a very long time and couldn’t help but feel frustrated.

Finally, the water was brought out in a large bowl. Just as he was about to take a big gulp, he noticed that there was a lot of rice bran sprinkled on top, and it was very hot! The feng shui master couldn’t help but feel angry, thinking that the owner of this place was deliberately tormenting him with such malice. However, due to his intense thirst, he could only swallow his anger and began blowing away the rice bran while cooling the hot water before sipping it little by little. After finishing the drink, the master performed a ritual that cursed this family with such wickedness, ensuring their feng shui would be as bleak as a graveyard with no hope of prosperity!

Several years later, the feng shui master passed by this manor again due to business. To his surprise, it was now flourishing with vibrant flowers and greenery—much more prosperous than before. The master was truly puzzled and requested an audience with the owner to explain what had happened regarding his experience drinking water and changing their feng shui.

The owner turned out to be an elderly lady. Upon hearing his story, she smiled and said that there were no other houses within several kilometers around here; since he must have walked quite a distance to arrive here thirsty, drinking water immediately could be harmful to his health. She made him wait so that he could calm down and rest for a bit; cold water could also be detrimental to health. Therefore, she had prepared boiled water mixed with rice bran so that he could sip it slowly rather than gulping down large amounts at once which would be bad for his body…

The master felt deeply embarrassed upon hearing this explanation; he felt very ashamed of himself. From then on, he gave up looking at any more feng shui and focused on his own self-cultivation instead. He finally understood that greater than feng shui is a person’s kind heart; greater than rituals is karma. A person who does good deeds and cultivates virtue speaks for itself! In fact, sometimes the love given by bodhisattvas is like this bowl of water—so thoughtfully prepared—and how can our ordinary hearts filled with urgency and greed ever comprehend the feelings of Buddha? Countless calculations cannot compare to a pure heart! Our environment is shaped by our hearts.

Therefore, changing oneself can indeed change the world! Every morning when we open our eyes, we should tell ourselves that today is a special day. Each day and every minute are so precious. Learn to be grateful every day; you will discover how beautiful the world is. A heart filled with gratitude brings warmth—not just for ourselves but also for our family and friends. Always harboring gratitude makes life infinitely better!
