Vajrasattva Hundred-Syllable Mantra

Vajrasattva Hundred-Syllable Mantra

The “Vajrasattva Hundred-Syllable Mantra” is the most powerful “king of mantras” in Buddhist esoteric practice, used to confess and repent sins and obscurations, and to purify karmic hindrances.

Core Benefits:
  • Purifying karmic obscurations: Reciting this mantra primarily cleanses the defilements of one’s own mind and pacifies illnesses, disasters, and obstacles to practice caused by past negative karma.
  • Repairing broken precepts: If a Vajrayana practitioner has fallen short in their vows or inadvertently broken a precept, the Hundred-Syllable Mantra can be used to make amends and restore purity.
  • Developing wisdom: Purifying anger and delusive thoughts within the mind allows the heart-mind to return to emptiness and reveals the wisdom and virtues that were originally complete within it.
