What does cultivation give me?
I remember when I first embarked on the path of cultivation, I was constantly immersed in discussions about cultivation and practice all day long. I would engage with fellow practitioners to explore various methods of cultivation, often sitting around a tea table, sipping tea while discussing the good and the bad, correcting improper practices and mindsets. In summary, I personally believe that mindset and correct perspectives are the most important aspects; when one’s mindset is right, it becomes easy to change and adapt methods.
I often see someone’s inner self wavering back and forth, hesitating and indecisive. It is difficult to walk far on the path of cultivation like this. At such times, it’s better to get off early or perhaps wait for an opportunity to board again!
To put it simply, cultivation means refining one’s heart, eliminating bad habits and thoughts, allowing oneself to become more mature and stable—free from restlessness or feelings of insecurity, with a steady aura.
One day I told my fellow practitioner that when I grow old, I no longer wish to sit at a tea table discussing matters of cultivation. We should shift our mindset and perspective to enjoy the present moment—sharing life experiences and supporting each other. The joy of brewing tea while talking about life allows us to grow together through our experiences and beauty. I enjoy the fun of tending to flowers and plants, watching life change and flourish, feeling the seasons change along with the rhythms of nature… all these truly represent beautiful moments in life.
