A Discussion on Character Creation
As mentioned before, the concept of character creation is based on observable reality, factual records, or descriptions of the prevailing atmosphere at the time, which are then transformed into written characters for representation. Therefore, it is not solely constructed using the spatial concepts of Tai Chi thinking and the rules of Yin and Yang.

Sometimes it is merely an expression of the current ambiance. For example, the character “焚” (burn) refers to the factual record of a fire burning a forest, extending to mean destruction by fire; thus, it should never be interpreted as indicating a diminishing fire on the Yin side. Similarly, the character “晶” (crystal) refers to something transparent and luminous, extending to mean bright and clear; therefore, it should never be imagined as three suns together, as that contradicts natural phenomena—so please do not misunderstand.
Furthermore, generally when seeing the radical “水” (water or three dots representing water), there is always a water component. When encountering the radical “火” (fire), there is always a fire component. However, when seeing the radical “灬”, it does not necessarily contain a fire component. For instance, in the character “焦” (burnt), it means roasting birds; in “庶” (common), it refers to barbecuing food. Of course, there is a small flame below; however, in characters like “魚” (fish) and “燕” (swallow), there is fundamentally no small flame present—instead, they extend to imply swiftness of fire. Therefore, I hope my colleagues in this field can gain a deeper understanding of characters when analyzing names and refrain from speaking carelessly or fabricating nonsense that misleads others and creates negative karma.
What I have shared above are insights from my research; they are not found in existing literature and can only be considered my conjectures. Moreover, I am still learning and am not an expert in philology; I truly do not dare to assert that there are no errors. I only hope to spark interest among everyone for deeper exploration into characters so that we do not become wandering sorcerers in this field but instead enhance our qualifications as name analysts. I also hope that those advanced in textual studies will generously share their knowledge to help fill my gaps in understanding—thank you in advance.
