Star Arrangement
To arrange the stars, one must follow the seasonal changes and align them with the yin and yang of the sitting mountain. If the sitting mountain is yang, then the main deity should be arranged in a direct manner; if it is paired with a secondary deity, it should be arranged in a reverse manner. If the sitting mountain is yin, then the main deity should be arranged in a reverse manner; if paired with a secondary deity, it should be arranged in a direct manner.

The time for star arrangement involves placing the Lian Zhen star in the central palace, while arranging the remaining eight stars according to the sequence of Tan Lang, Ju Men, Lu Cun, Wen Qu, Wu Qu, Po Jun, Zuo Fu, and You Bi. This arrangement follows the directional positions of the eight trigrams for both direct and reverse placements; thus each trigram receives one star. The determination of auspiciousness or inauspiciousness is based on whether one has aligned with stars that are timely and seasonal for auspiciousness or those that are untimely and out of season for inauspiciousness.
For example, taking Ren Mountain as an example for Upper Yuan: Ren Mountain is yang and serves as the main deity during Upper Yuan; therefore, we must arrange the stars directly. Starting from Ju Men at Ren Mountain: Kan trigram corresponds to Ju Men; Gen trigram corresponds to Lu Cun; Zhen trigram corresponds to Wen Qu; Xun trigram corresponds to Wu Qu; Li trigram corresponds to Po Jun; Kun trigram corresponds to Zuo Fu; Dui trigram corresponds to You Bi; and Qian trigram corresponds to Tan Lang. Thus Kan, Gen, Zhen, and Qian trigrams correspond to auspicious stars.
Conversely, taking Ren Mountain as an example for Lower Yuan: Ren Mountain is yang but serves as a secondary deity during Lower Yuan; therefore we must arrange the stars in reverse. Starting from Ju Men at Ren Mountain: Kan trigram corresponds to Ju Men; Qian trigram corresponds to Lu Cun; Dui trigram corresponds to Wen Qu; Kun trigram corresponds to Wu Qu; Li trigram corresponds to Po Jun; Xun trigram corresponds to Zuo Fu; Zhen trigram corresponds to You Bi; and Gen trigram corresponds to Tan Lang. Thus Kun, Li, Xun, and Zhen trigrams correspond to auspicious stars.
